Casto creates one-of-a-kind wildlife sculptures out of driftwood gathered from the Atlantic Ocean, nearby swamps, and other waterways. The constant buffeting and chafing of wood on wood, exposure to water, sun, rain and wind, create the twists and turns that give the wood exciting and distinctive character. Bill has the exceptional talent of seeing what lies hidden in the wood. By using the available lines and planes he brings his wildlife sculpture to life. His creativity is recognized for its attention to detail, meticulous selection of only most interesting woods, use of grain patterns and hand polished, glass-like finishes.
