Betty Botts

Botts finds inspiration for her paintings from nature, family, and her spirituality. “I am driven in my paintings to reach that place where they become real to me, living and breathing, not just paint on a canvas”, says Botts.  Botts was an art major in college but did not embrace her love for painting until she was later given the gift of art classes from her mother. Botts creates large, mixed-media paintings with bold strokes of color from a sophisticated palette joined by expressionistic marks that both render the subject and detail the artist's emotions surrounding her appreciation of nature. Botts' trademark, which can be found on all of her paintings, is a scripture verse from the Bible.
