Creator of small, intricately detailed watercolor wildlife paintings, each of Politowicz’s paintings is a vignette, a tiny glimpse into the immeasurable beauty present in the tiniest elements of nature. Her enchanting images have, throughout her years as an artist, evoked a sense of nostalgia in the viewer, as well as herself. Born, raised, and educated in Michigan, it was in her childhood that she developed her strong appreciation of nature. Her paintings are reminiscent of the imaginative fairy worlds of children found often in the corners of fields, lawns, or the banks of streams. Theresa hopes to rekindle that same love, fascination, and reverence for nature in all that view her paintings. Originally trained as an industrial artist, Theresa became the first female wood model maker on the General Motors design staff. After becoming a wife and mother, she turned back to painting and has since displayed her work in galleries and exhibitions all over the U.S. Her artwork can also be found on numerous pieces by The Franklin Mint and The Leanin’ Tree company products.
