Richard Clifton is a 57 year old Delaware native. He lives on a historic family farm “Eastwind” that adjoins a National Wildlife Refuge and is surrounded by inspiration for his art. His private gallery and studio overlook various conservations projects he has added to enhance wildlife. A self-taught wildlife artist, he chooses acrylics as his medium. Waterfowl, birds of prey and songbirds are some of his favorite subjects. Since his first win in 1991, he has gone on to paint 51 duck stamps including the 2007-2008 Federal. He has displayed at notable Wildlife Art Shows across the country, has been named D.U. Artist of the Year 3 times and is the first artist to win this award back to back, 2018 and 2019. He has apperaed on D.U. TV as well as the documentary “The Million Dollar Duck”. His adventures in the field include hunting,photography and birding.
