Artist Application – The online artist application for SEWE will be open July 1 – August 31. Applicants will be notified of their status via email by September 15.
The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition features wildlife and nature paintings, carvings and sculpture. SEWE takes place in historic Charleston, SC, each February on President’s Weekend and draws artists and attendees from across the country.
The online artist application for SEWE is available July 1 – August 31. Those who wish to participate must submit the online application along with five images that are representative of your work for review by the jurying committee. Images must be saved in the following format: Artist Last Name_Title [Ex: Smith_SpringFlight]. A one-time $25 application fee must accompany first-time submissions. The deadline for applications is August 31.
If accepted, the artist will receive an invitation to participate in the show as well as all registration forms. Forms must be signed and returned along with the $150 registration fee to reserve your space. Space is not guaranteed until artist has received official confirmation from the SEWE office. Registrations are accepted in the order in which they are received until all spaces are filled. Application fees and registration fees are non-refundable.

Sales Information
- SEWE provides a sales staff to handle all sales and pays all credit card discounts.
- 24-hour security is provided.
- Display space is assigned at SEWE’s discretion.
- Artists may only exhibit in the category for which written notification of acceptance has been received. All artwork is exhibited at the discretion of SEWE, which reserves the right to remove artwork deemed inappropriate.
- Artists agree to pay the appropriate show commission to SEWE for any sales made as a result of contact made at the event including commissioned and special order artwork.
- Artists may not be featured in any art show within 100 miles of Charleston, SC within 120 days prior to and 90 days following the SEWE dates. Exceptions must be confirmed in writing by SEWE.
- All unsold artwork must remain on display through the close of the show.
Painters
- All work must be original and a minimum of $500.00
- Display walls and lighting system provided by SEWE.
- All work must fit on assigned 9′ high walls. Artwork may be replaced as it sells.
- Upon acceptance, a $150 registration fee is due.
- SEWE will pay wholesale price (65% of retail) to the artist from the sale of artwork at the show and/or as a result of the show.
Sculptors
- All work must be original and a minimum of $500.00
- Sculptors are provided at least a 10″ x 10″ space and are encouraged to bring their own pedestals, displays and lights.
- Tables are available for those who do not wish to bring their own displays.
- Upon acceptance, a $150 registration fee is due.
- SEWE will pay wholesale price (70% of retail) to the artist from the sale of each piece at the show and/or as a result of the show.
