FRESH OFF THE EASEL WITH KATHLEEN DUNPHY
The Matriarch, Oil on Linen, 21″ x 29″
“Longhorns are such amazing animals, majestic and regal and imposing. I found this herd of calves and protective cows along a back road one hot summer morning, clustered under the shade of an oak tree. One cow stood apart from the rest, quietly watching over the herd and keeping an eye on everything. Her venerable demeanor inspired me to paint this portrait of The Matriarch.”
