The Dewberry will welcome celebrated artist, naturalist, and conservationist, Chris Maynard, as its Artist-in-Residence during SEWE 2024. Throughout SEWE weekend guests can meet and witness the artist at work where he carves naturally shed feathers into intricate compositions by cutting them into detailed shapes and arranging the cutouts into alluring scenes that celebrate the life and flight of birds and the meaning that birds and flight have for us.

Featherfolio artist, Chris Maynard works with feathers from turkeys, parrots, peacocks, and other birds and crafts them into scenes that are displayed in his world-renowned shadow boxes.

Maynard’s artwork will also be on view in the Vitrine in the Historic Lobby of The Dewberry hotel as part of his residency.
